Viluxur Holidays: Fostering the future of the Sri Lankan youth
At Viluxur Holidays, business isn’t all about the bottom line. This year January, we embarked on our annual corporate social responsibility initiative which is aimed at enhancing the technological infrastructure at rural schools in Sri Lanka. As part of the initiative computer equipment were donated to Matale Kawatamaya Ananda Maha Vidyalaya to facilitate better access information and to provide an opportunity for the students to explore new territories using computers and improve on their knowledge and skills. The Directors of Viluxur Holidays Mr. Cammy Gunesekara and Mr. Trevin Reid announced that more donations will be made to deserving schools to secure a promising youth for Sri Lanka in the new era of information and technology.

Annual Year end party – White Wonderland
The year end party was held at Park street mews on in November under the theme white wonderland. Viluxur Holidays staff was joined by many travel partners in celebration of an end of a successful year. It was an event filled with fun and exitement with prizes and surprises for all Viluxur staff supported by our hotel partners.

Viluxur Holdings is thrilled to be signed on as the Main Handling Agent for Tuniu, one of the largest Chinese Travel Agents in the Maldives in 2015. A super way to consolidate its presence in the Maldives!

Viluxur Branded Busses
Viluxur added 2 new brand new busses to our fleet purchased from Kinglong. This was first time Kinglong produced a branded bus in Sri Lanka.

Charter Flight Operation for Chinese New Year
Viluxur Holidays handled 2 Charter flights arrived from Hangzhou China during the Chinese New Year. This was the first charter flights to operate from China during the New Year consisting nearly 250 passengers each per flight and covered Colombo, Habarana, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Bentota.

The Asian heartthrob, Hero Tai visited the Maldives with our team and stayed at the exquisite Park Hyatt. We were ecstatic to have sponsored the visit of this much loved celebrity.

Hero Tai’s Trip to Sri Lanka
Mr. Hero Tai, the internationally famous Malaysian celebrity, arrived in Sri Lanka on 27th October 2014. He gained fame in China for his acting roles in movies & commercials in Malaysia, Taiwan & China. He came to Sri Lanka with the aim of promoting Sri Lanka as a popular destination amongst Chinese travellers. Viluxur Holidays initiated his involvement in this project and has undertaken all travel arrangements for the group that he travelled with. A press conference was held at the Kingsbury Hotel by Viluxur Holidays. Sri Lankan Tourist Board Director – Ms. Madhubani Perera, Director of Viluxur Holidays – Mr. Cammy Gunesekera and Citrus Hotel Corporation Director – Mr. Mani Sugathapala were present at this event.

Italian Feminization Group Tour
The Tour of the group was sponsored by the Italian Sparzio Represents in Italy, to promote Sri Lanka as one of their popular travel destination. The group of 08 Italian major tour partners were participated and travelled around Sri Lanka their first night of arrival they visited the Old Dutch Hospital for cocktails and dinner, the old Dutch hospital is also known as one of the oldest building in Colombo, it was a hospital during the 1700 century which now is converted into a shopping and restaurants arcade, the group spent their first night in Colombo Cinnamon Grand, and they also visited many other hotels around as Kandy, Trincomalie, our Viluxur Italian Representative Ms. Francesca participated in the tour with the group.

David Beckham’s Father’s stay in Sri Lanka
Ted Beckham, the father of the world’s most famous footballer – David Beckham, arrived in Sri Lanka to attend the wedding of one of his close Sri Lankan friend’s daughter. He arrived with an entourage of select members of the Manchester United Football Team’s Management in December 2013. All travel arrangements were handled by Viluxur Holidays. In addition to the wedding the group also visited several other locations in Sri Lanka such as Wadduwa, Kandalama, Kandy & Colombo while staying in some of Sri Lanka’s finest hotels.
